The police have requested an arrest warrant for a woman in her twenties who murdered her grandfather with a weapon.
On May 20, the Seoul Dongdaemun Police Station announced that it had requested an arrest warrant for Ms. A on charges of parricide.
According to the police, Ms. A is suspected of stabbing and killing her grandfather, who was in his eighties, with a weapon at their home in Dapsimni-dong, Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, at around 11:50 a.m. on May 18. The victim was transported to a hospital immediately after the incident but was pronounced dead.

The police apprehended Ms. A at the scene immediately after the crime. A police official stated, "Given the gravity of the case, based on the circumstances of the crime and the evidence, we have decided to request an arrest warrant."
