He further stated, "The unfortunate past in which state power lorded over citizens must never be repeated," and added, "Politics of hatred, distortion, extremism, and self-righteousness must now come to an end." He emphasized, "I will continue the spirit of May in today's democracy and in the daily lives of citizens," and promised, "Instead of politics for power, I will pursue politics that safeguard the lives of citizens, and instead of privilege and exclusion, I will answer with administration grounded in solidarity and responsibility."
