Seo-gu Gwangju to Officially Launch "Geunyang Dream" Program Providing Food and Daily Necessities to Vulnerable Households
No Separate Procedures Such as Income Verification Required
Seo-gu District in Gwangju Metropolitan City will officially launch the "Geunyang Dream" program on May 19. This initiative is the first of its kind in Gwangju and provides immediate support to vulnerable households with food and daily necessities, without requiring separate administrative procedures such as income verification.
The program targets residents who are experiencing financial hardship due to sudden job loss, illness, or business suspension or closure. Those wishing to use the service can visit the Haengbok Nanum Food Market (119 Yeomhwa-ro) with their ID, complete a self-assessment checklist and application form, and receive food and daily necessities worth 20,000 won, such as instant rice, noodles, and ready-to-eat meals.
Food and daily necessities are 'Given Away for Free' to vulnerable households.

The Haengbok Nanum Food Market operates every Tuesday and Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Supplies are limited to 30 sets per day, and each person can use the service once a month, up to three times per year.
