Card Companies Begin Accepting Applications for Second Round of High Oil Price Relief Payments
Hana Card and NH Nonghyup Card Begin Accepting Applications
On May 18, card companies announced that they are now accepting applications for the government’s second round of high oil price relief payments.
According to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, applications and registrations for the second round of high oil price relief payments began at 9 a.m. on the same day. The application period runs until 6 p.m. on July 3.
Approximately 36 million people in the bottom 70% income bracket are eligible for the high oil price relief payment. Eligibility was determined based on the total household health insurance premium contributions assessed in March. Among those eligible for the first round of payments, 283,712 people who have not yet applied may also submit applications during this period.
The application process is similar to last year’s “Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon” program. Those wishing to use the relief payment with their credit or debit card can apply through their respective card issuer.
Hana Card explained that applicants using its cards can enjoy benefits such as immediate use without waiting, cross-usage between Hana credit and debit cards, performance recognition for card usage, the same additional services as before, and real-time balance inquiry via the Hana Pay application.
Customers who do not have a Hana Card can also apply by issuing a debit card at a Hana Bank branch.
NH Nonghyup Card announced that it would operate both online and offline channels to ensure customers can apply for the relief payment without confusion.
