Suwon City Hosts Child Abuse Prevention Message Contest Until June 16
Suwon City in Gyeonggi Province is launching a participatory 'Child Abuse Prevention Campaign' contest involving children.
The city of Suwon announced that it will host the participatory campaign 'We Are Precious!' from May 18, 2026, to June 16, 2026, with the aim of conveying the importance of preventing child abuse and promoting children's rights through the voices of children themselves.
This campaign is organized so that messages are solicited from children—not from the perspective of adults, but using children's own language and viewpoint, allowing them to express directly what they want to communicate to adults.
The contest invites children to submit honest remarks that capture their genuine thoughts and expressions, not those of adults. Children may also submit entries themselves.
Children or their guardians can participate by writing and submitting their messages through the Suwon City citizen communication platform 'Saebit Toktok'.
The Suwon City Children's Participation Committee will select 10 of the submitted messages. Placards featuring the selected messages will be produced and displayed at key locations. The messages will also be continuously utilized in child-related events, such as the campaign commemorating Child Abuse Prevention Day (November 19).
A Suwon City official stated, "We hope this campaign will serve as an opportunity to share children's messages with the community and broaden public awareness about child abuse prevention," adding, "We will continue our efforts to create an environment where children are respected and can grow up happily."
