Campaign Committee Lineup Announced
Hyangja Yang, the People Power Party candidate for Governor of Gyeonggi Province in the June 3 local elections, has formed her campaign committee with former Gyeonggi Governor Kim Moonsoo as the Standing General Election Committee Chair, officially launching her campaign.

View original imageOn May 14, Yang's campaign held an election office opening ceremony at the People Power Party's Gyeonggi Provincial Office in Jangan-gu, Suwon, and announced the lineup of the election committee. Former Governor Kim Moonsoo was appointed as the Standing General Election Committee Chair, responsible for directing the campaign's strategy and organization.
Hwang Wooyeoh, a five-term lawmaker who served as Deputy Prime Minister for Social Affairs and Minister of Education during the Park Geun-hye administration, was named Honorary Election Committee Chair.
Kim Seonkyoh, head of the People Power Party’s Gyeonggi Provincial Office, and former Floor Leader Won Yoochul were appointed as Co-General Election Committee Chairs overseeing campaign operations. The list of Co-Election Committee Chairs includes Gyeonggi-area lawmakers Kim Sungwon, Ahn Cheolsoo, Song Seokjun, Kim Eunhye, and Kim Yongtae, as well as former Gyeonggi gubernatorial primary candidate Lee Seongbae. Former lawmaker Park Jonghee was appointed as General Election Headquarters Chief. Former Incheon Mayor Ahn Sangsoo was named Chair of the Special Committee on Future Urban Development, and lawmaker Seo Myeongok was appointed Chair of the Central Women's Committee.
In her remarks that day, Yang stated, "If we win this election, we can stop the runaway Democratic Party and lead Gyeonggi Province to become a truly global advanced industrial city."

She added, "To win the election, we must go beyond the past and ideological divides, create a campaign overflowing with economic growth, industry, jobs, and people's livelihoods, and fight alongside the people in the sea of public sentiment."
