Seo-gu, Gwangju's "Sekeun University" Partners with Universities to Launch 7 Specialized Educational Programs
Linked with RISE Program at Songwon University and Gwangju Health University
Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, is joining hands with local universities to actively expand opportunities for self-development among local residents.
Seo-gu will officially launch educational programs in collaboration with Songwon University and Gwangju Health University through its lifelong education brand, "The Largest University in the World, Seo-gu" (hereinafter Sekeun University).
Sekeun University is Seo-gu’s flagship brand project, designed to turn the entire district into a lifelong learning campus and satisfy residents’ desire for learning. Seo-gu aims to offer residents a wide range of educational opportunities by working together with local universities.
Seo-gu, Gwangju provides educational programs linked with Songwon University and Gwangju Health University to residents through the lifelong education brand "The Biggest University in the World, Seo-gu" (hereinafter referred to as "Sekundae").

Songwon University will operate three programs, including Screen Park Golf (Monday/Wednesday classes) and an AI Utilization Beginner Course. The Screen Park Golf program covers the basic rules of park golf and how to use the equipment, while the AI Utilization Beginner Course introduces participants to educational software and provides introductory AI education using tools such as ChatGPT.
Gwangju Health University will offer four courses: Florist Certification Program, Horticultural Psychotherapy Certification Program, Aroma DIY Certification Program, and Sports Massage & Taping Certification Course. These courses focus on professional practice and certification, aiming to strengthen residents’ job skills and help them build a foundation for employment or entrepreneurship.

Seo-gu Mayor Lee Ikang stated, "We are strengthening cooperation with local universities so that residents can access quality education anytime and anywhere," adding, "Through specialized programs that are not easily accessible in everyday life, we hope that residents will experience the joy of learning and utilize these opportunities for self-development."
