Suwon City to Send Military Noise Compensation Decision Notices via Mobile
Suwon City in Gyeonggi Province will become the first in the country to send military noise compensation decision notices using a "mobile electronic notification" method.
On May 14, Suwon City announced that it would send decision notices via KakaoTalk messages this month to applicants for Suwon City's military noise compensation in 2026.
Recipients can view the notice after completing an identity verification process. For those who do not check their mobile electronic notification, an additional notification will be sent by registered mail.
Recipients of the mobile electronic notification can check their compensation amount through the electronic notice. If there is no objection to the decision, the compensation will be paid in August. Applicants who wish to file an objection to the decision can submit their claim through Saebit Toktok from June 1 to July 30. Compensation for those who file an objection is scheduled to be paid in October.

A Suwon City official stated, "With the previous two-way text message method, many citizens were concerned about voice phishing and smishing due to the identity verification process, and it also took considerable administrative time. By introducing mobile electronic notification, we expect to enhance the reliability of the administration, reduce costs, and improve citizen convenience."
