Korea Digital Authentication Association, Growing Excitement for "2026 Blockchain AI Hackathon" Technical Briefing
A technical briefing was held on the 7th at Raonsecure headquarters ahead of the '2026 Blockchain AI Hackathon'.
View original imageThe "2026 Blockchain AI Hackathon," a practical technology competition that integrates blockchain and artificial intelligence (AI), is attracting significant attention even before its official launch.
The Korea Digital Authentication Association announced on May 12 that, ahead of the upcoming "2026 Blockchain AI Hackathon" scheduled for June, a technical briefing was held at the headquarters of Raonsecure in Yeouido, Seoul on the 7th, attended by more than 100 applicants.
This hackathon is co-hosted by Raonsecure and the Global Digital Innovation Network (GDIN), with sponsorship from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. The event aims to discover innovative services and ideas utilizing blockchain and AI technologies.
During the briefing, participants were given detailed information about the direction of the services to be implemented in the competition, the core technology elements, and the evaluation criteria. The session was designed to help participants gain a concrete understanding of how to apply the technologies ahead of the main competition and enhance their practical skills.
In particular, the integration of services based on mobile identification was highlighted as a key topic. Participants received specific guidance on how to apply mobile identity authentication technology to real-world services, as well as on how to implement outcomes using blockchain and AI technologies.
There was also strong interest in the criteria for awarding additional points. Projects utilizing Raonsecure’s open-source blockchain digital ID platform, "OmniOne Open DID" or "OmniOne Chain," which is available on GitHub, will be given extra points. Additionally, information was provided on how to use essential support tools for project execution, such as APIs, SDKs, datasets, and development infrastructure.
The on-site briefing featured active discussions on practical topics, including how to use mobile identification, the scope of API and SDK support, and the technologies eligible for additional points. After the event, a networking session was arranged to allow participants to discuss team formation and potential collaborations.
Lim Dohyun, Vice President of the Korea Digital Authentication Association, stated, "The large turnout at this briefing demonstrates the high level of interest in developing mobile identification and AI-based services. We hope that participants will use the knowledge gained from this event to develop creative and feasible ideas and achieve positive results."
Meanwhile, applications for the "2026 Blockchain & AI Hackathon" are open until May 30. The preliminary and final rounds will be held from June to September, with five winning teams to be selected on September 30. The grand prize team will receive the Minister of the Interior and Safety Award and a prize of 15 million won, and, following a separate evaluation, up to 1 billion won in startup support may also be provided.
