Kim Stresses North Korea-Russia Alliance in Congratulatory Message
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un sent a congratulatory message to President Vladimir Putin, emphasizing the alliance between the two countries.
On May 9, through a message marking the 81st anniversary of Russia's Victory Day commemorating the end of World War II, Kim reaffirmed "the position of the government of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea) to highly value and consistently elevate and develop the comprehensive strategic partnership," according to a report by the Korean Central News Agency.
Regarding North Korea-Russia relations, he stressed that he is "always satisfied with and proud of them."
Kim, in particular, highlighted his personal closeness to President Putin by referring to him as "dearest comrade," "respected comrade Putin," and even omitting his title to call him "dear Vladimir Vladimirovich."
Kim added, "Pyongyang always stands with you and the brotherly Russian people," and stated, "the great history of Russia's victory will continue."
North Korea and Russia have continued cooperation in various fields since signing the 'Treaty on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership' in 2024.
