Namwon City Takes Full Action to Reduce Fine Dust... Promotes 'Low-Emission Conversion' for Aging Construction Equipment
Total Budget of 751 Million Won Allocated
Applications Accepted Until the 22nd
Namwon City is developing a variety of air quality improvement policies to address the climate crisis and protect citizens' right to health.
In particular, the city is implementing a support project for low-emission measures to reduce air pollutants emitted from old construction machinery, which is considered a major cause of air pollution, and to create a cleaner atmospheric environment.
This project has a total budget of 751 million won and provides support for engine replacement and electrification retrofits for aging construction equipment. Applications will be accepted from May 4 to May 22, 2026.
The support includes replacing engines in 29 units and electrifying 7 units. The number of units supported may be partially adjusted depending on project circumstances.
Eligible applicants are owners of construction equipment registered in Namwon City as of the application date. For engine replacement, the eligible equipment includes old forklifts, excavators, loaders, and rollers equipped with engines meeting emission standards of Tier-1 or below. For electrification retrofits, eligible models are construction equipment selected through a public contest for electrification feasibility.
Applicants wishing to participate can check the announcement posted in the Notice section of the Namwon City website and apply online through the Automobile Emissions Integrated Computer System, or visit the Environment Division at Namwon City Hall to submit an application in person.
