She helped create a relaxed atmosphere, and we had an open and sincere meeting. Today, President Park once again emphasized the meaning of challenge and growth during Korea's industrialization process."
Choo explained that, together with Lee, he visited the birthplace of President Park Chung-hee in Gumi on May 1 and reflected on his spirit of industrialization, and former President Park Geun-hye expressed her sympathy and words of encouragement regarding their visit.
Choo added, "President Park expressed concern that the domestic and international situation has been uneasy recently. She stressed that, especially at times like these, we must protect liberal democracy and that Daegu should play its role as the center of conservatism. In particular, she asked me whether Dalseong-gun has not undergone a dramatic transformation and urged me to use that experience to revitalize the Daegu economy."
