Jung Won-oh: "Oh Se-hoon's Claims of Soaring Housing Prices Are Self-Criticism" (Comprehensive)
Criticizing Oh Se-hoon at a Meeting on May 4th
"What Did Oh Do During His Five-Year Term?"
Jung Won-oh, the Democratic Party candidate for Seoul mayor, stated on May 4th, "Candidate Oh Se-hoon claims that the current administration is responsible for the surge in housing prices and the sharp increase in jeonse and monthly rents, even though these issues were created during his own tenure. This amounts to self-criticism."

He continued, "Mr. Oh says that issues like the housing problem and redevelopment or reconstruction take 10 to 15 years, so they are not his responsibility. That is only half true. When it comes to jeonse and monthly rent issues, countermeasures can be established and new housing such as villas, officetels, and residential accommodations can be supplied within two to three years." He added, "If he is now warning that the city will become a 'jeonse and monthly rent hell' after having had a full term in office, that is self-criticism."
Furthermore, candidate Jung remarked, "If Mr. Oh's position is to clash with President Lee Jae-myung for all four years in order to rebuild the conservative bloc, there will be constant noise and political strife during that time. All of these negative consequences will be borne by citizens." He emphasized, "Local governments must be centered on the lives of citizens, not on political conflict."
