Hanpass Signs MOU with Korea Tourism Organization... "Enhancing Transportation Convenience for Tourists"
Hanpass is taking steps to enhance the convenience of domestic transportation for foreign tourists visiting Korea.
On May 4, Hanpass announced that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Korea Tourism Organization to strengthen cooperation in the field of tourism transportation. This agreement is being pursued as part of efforts to expand collaboration within the public-private tourism transportation consultative body. Its goal is to improve the convenience of domestic transportation for inbound tourists and to enhance their overall travel satisfaction.
Since June 2023, the Korea Tourism Organization has been operating the tourism transportation public-private consultative body in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and transportation and platform-related organizations. Collaborative projects have been underway to improve the environment for foreign visitors using various modes of transportation—such as railways, buses, taxis, and rental cars—and to connect these improvements to local tourism.
The two organizations will promote: ▲Providing convenience in using tourism transportation for foreign visitors to Korea ▲Discovering new business opportunities based on payment data ▲Developing and jointly marketing collaborative services that link tourism and transportation ▲Cooperating on other improvements to tourism transportation services. Through these initiatives, they plan to create a seamless environment from transportation use to payment, and to enhance the effectiveness of tourism transportation services with data-driven analysis. In particular, by leveraging Hanpass's payment and financial service capabilities for foreigners, they aim to resolve the complexity of authentication and the inconvenience of payment during the post-arrival travel process.
