Chaevi Enhances Charging Benefits for Family Month with Credits, Rate Discounts, and 10th Anniversary Events
CHAEVI (CEO Choi Younghoon), the leading operator of electric vehicle (EV) fast charging infrastructure (CPO) in Korea and formerly known as Daeyoung CHAEVI, announced on May 4 that it will launch a "Triple Promotion" offering a range of benefits to customers for Family Month in May. The campaign aims to reduce charging costs while improving user convenience, simultaneously providing credit rewards, rate discounts, and a 10th-anniversary event for one month.
The core of this promotion is the credit benefit for new users of "BaroCHAEVI." Customers using the service for the first time who charge at least 10 kWh in a single session at a CHAEVI fast charger will receive a coupon worth 2,000 credits. The coupon can be claimed through the "Use My Coupon" menu in the CHAEVI app and is available once per account. Awarded credits can be used not only at CHAEVI charging stations nationwide but also at the "20BOON" cafe and the Korean restaurant brand "Jeongseongok" located at CHAEVI Stay locations.
"BaroCHAEVI" is a Plug-and-Charge (PnC) service that, after a one-time registration, enables authentication, charging, and payment automatically by simply connecting the charger, without needing to launch the app or use card authentication. This significantly streamlines the charging process and greatly improves user convenience.
A rate discount event will also run in parallel. Throughout May, on weekends and public holidays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., members who use fast charging at designated CHAEVI stations and verify their membership will receive a 50-won discount per kWh. Eligible stations can be checked using the "Family Month" filter on the "Charging Station" map in the CHAEVI app. In total, 10 major locations with high family visitor traffic have been selected, including Chuncheon Legoland, the National Gwacheon Science Museum, the National Gwangju Museum, Gwangalli Beach, and the Ulsan City Art Museum.
In addition, to celebrate its 10th anniversary, CHAEVI has prepared a special event from May 20 to 27. Customers who subscribe to the official YouTube channel and complete the application via the app will receive a 5,000-won credit coupon, and 300 participants will be selected by lottery to receive an additional coffee coupon.
Furthermore, CHAEVI is expanding customer benefits through its subscription services and rewards program. "V Members" can receive a 23% discount on fast charging fees, an additional 5% bonus when purchasing credits, and free CHAEVI Stay usage coupons. New members receive 2,000 credits, and the "Lightning" program allows users to accumulate points for both charging and CHAEVI Stay utilization.
According to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, among the 164,813 newly registered vehicles in Korea in March this year, 41,232 were EVs, accounting for about 25% of the total. This figure is approximately 2.2 times higher than the same month last year, and the cumulative number of EVs sold surpassed 1,020,948, breaking the one million mark. Annual sales this year are expected to reach around 400,000 units, with 87,665 units sold in the first quarter alone, traditionally considered the off-season, indicating continued growth momentum.
A CHAEVI representative stated, "With cumulative EV registrations surpassing one million, the importance of the charging experience as well as infrastructure is becoming increasingly significant. We hope that this promotion, timed for the season when people go out more often, will allow customers to experience a more convenient and economical charging environment."
Meanwhile, CHAEVI was listed on the KOSDAQ market on April 29 and plans to use the funds raised to further expand its charging infrastructure, advance ultra-fast charging technology, and actively pursue overseas market entry.
