KB Financial Group Discusses Collaboration with US Blockchain Fund Pantera Capital

KB Financial Group announced on May 3 that it discussed strategic collaboration in the blockchain sector with Pantera Capital at the KB Kookmin Bank headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, on April 28. Pantera Capital is the first blockchain venture capital (VC) and hedge fund in the United States.

View original imageFounded in 2003, Pantera Capital launched the first Bitcoin fund in the United States in 2013. The firm currently manages approximately 5.2 billion dollars (about 7.7 trillion won) in assets.
KB Financial Group shared the latest global blockchain industry trends with Pantera Capital and explored potential areas of collaboration regarding digital asset business agendas.
The discussions covered benchmarking investment methods and cooperation models that have been proven in global markets, as well as ways to enhance mutual collaboration in future fund management and investment expansion.
A KB Financial Group representative stated, "The meeting with Pantera Capital is an important opportunity to further advance KB Financial Group's global digital strategy," adding, "We aim to secure future financial competitiveness based on blockchain and identify promising new global business opportunities."

Meanwhile, KB Financial Group is expanding its digital finance domain—following its recent business agreement with the Bank of Korea for 'Project Han River' and a partnership with global stablecoin company Circle, the group has now established a strategic cooperative relationship with Pantera Capital.
