While the 2024 and 2025 competitions had "Dream" and "Travel" as their respective themes, this year's Gwangju Student Art Competition adopted "Peace" as its theme for the first round of entries. To enhance fairness, an on-site drawing contest was held for those who passed the initial screening.
The 60 final award-winning pieces will be exhibited to the public at the Gwangju Museum of Art from May 2 to 10, and at the Gwangju Shinsegae Gallery from May 13 to 19.
Celebrating its 31st anniversary this year, Gwangju Shinsegae has been providing full support for the art competition to foster local artistic talent. Since its inception in 2024, the Gwangju Student Art Competition has become a significant event for aspiring young artists in the region.
