Beomheon Lee, a distinguished professor at Shinhan University, has been elected as the 9th Chairperson of the Arts Council Korea.

View original imageOn April 27, the Arts Council Korea announced that a provisional meeting was held, during which Professor Lee was elected as the new chairperson. All 11 members attended the meeting, including eight new 9th-term members appointed by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and three members with remaining terms. The chairperson was chosen through a mutual vote among the committee members.
The term of office for the 9th committee, including the new chairperson, is three years, running until April 26, 2029.
The newly appointed chairperson, Lee, graduated from the Department of Oriental Painting at Hongik University and obtained a master's degree in Oriental Painting from the Graduate School of Fine Arts at the same university. He has previously served as the 24th President of the Korean Fine Arts Association, Special Advisor for Arts and Culture at the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, and the 28th President of the Federation of Artistic and Cultural Organizations of Korea. He is currently serving as a distinguished professor at Shinhan University.
