Kim Boo-gyeom Opens Campaign Office: "Daegu Must Scold People Power Party to Survive"
About 50 Pro-Government Figures and Party Leaders Attend the Event
Kim Boo-kyum, the Democratic Party candidate for Mayor of Daegu, held the opening ceremony for his election office in Dalseo District, Daegu, on the 26th, with strong support from the broader pro-government bloc.
At the ceremony, Kim stated, "Daegu was the first city to face a crisis during COVID-19, but its citizens endured through restraint and solidarity. That is the steadfastness of Daegu's people."

View original imageTargeting the People Power Party, he added, "Is the role of the mayor of Daegu to fight? If the mayor is fighting, then who is doing the work?" He emphasized, "This time, let Kim Boo-kyum serve as a warning stick. Make the People Power Party come to its senses." He continued, "Only if Daegu holds the People Power Party accountable this time will the country survive. That's how Korean politics will stand upright, and above all, Daegu will thrive."
The opening ceremony was attended by more than 50 current and former members of the National Assembly from the broader pro-government camp, including the Democratic Party leadership, the Innovation Party, and independents.
Party leader Jeong Cheong-rae, in his congratulatory remarks, said, "During this local election, the person we approached with the most care and effort was Kim Boo-kyum. He is our top star marketing asset and a surefire winning card." He added, "We will provide full party support for the transformation into a robotics capital, artificial intelligence (AI) conversion, and the new TK airport."
Former President Moon Jae-in, in a video message, said, "Like 'Fool Roh Moo-hyun,' Kim Boo-kyum never turned away from hardship and never wavered even when frustrated by regionalism. Now, I hope the people of Daegu will accept Kim Boo-kyum and help him become an even greater asset for Daegu."
