Israeli Military Chief of Staff: "Prepared to Return to Combat on All Fronts"
Immediately after the second ceasefire negotiations between the United States and Iran broke down, the top leadership of the Israeli military suggested the possibility of resuming combat on all fronts.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Eyal Zamir, Chief of the General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces, stressed during an Independence Day award ceremony for outstanding soldiers held at the presidential residence on April 22 (local time), "The Israeli military is maintaining a high level of alert and readiness," adding, "We are prepared to return to combat immediately and with force on all fronts."
Chief of Staff Zamir referred to the 12-day war with Iran last June, the recent 40-day-long military operations against Iran, ongoing hostilities with Iran, and the ground battles with the Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah in Lebanon.
