Chung Chung-rae, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, appealed on April 22, saying, "The prolonged war in the Middle East is deepening the public's anxiety," and emphasized, "The swift execution of the supplementary budget, which was processed at the fastest pace in history, is more desperately needed than ever."

He added, "In particular, the management of supply and demand for key resources such as naphtha, petrochemical products, and crude oil is extremely critical," and urged, "Please manage the supply chain thoroughly to prevent any disruptions in supply and demand, and do your utmost to ensure price stability so that the crisis in the Middle East does not affect the daily lives of our people."
He also called on the government, saying, "Protecting vulnerable groups must be the top priority in any measures aimed at stabilizing livelihoods."
In addition, Chung stated, "The compensation for high oil prices, scheduled to be paid from the 27th, should serve as much-needed relief for citizens suffering from soaring fuel costs," and requested, "Please ensure that there are no issues from application to payout by conducting thorough checks."
