SWM Wins Deputy Prime Minister’s Award for Urban Autonomous Robotaxi at 2026 Korea Impact Tech Awards
SWM, an autonomous driving technology company, has won the Deputy Prime Minister’s Award at the 2026 Korea Impact Tech Awards for its “urban autonomous robotaxi.” This recognition is attributed to the practical data SWM has accumulated in downtown Gangnam since 2024, as well as the completeness of its Door-to-Door (D2D) service.
SWM’s robotaxi operates as a zonal service, traveling based on the passenger’s departure and destination points rather than predetermined routes. By repeatedly operating in complex environments, it has continuously improved the decision-making capabilities of its autonomous driving AI. Notably, since April 6, the service has transitioned to a paid operation, marking a full-scale entry into the commercialization phase of autonomous driving and contributing to alleviating late-night transportation gaps.
The company is also unveiling its key competitive strengths that underpin its technological achievements. SWM plans to introduce its next-generation autonomous driving computing platform, the “AP-700,” for the first time at the 2026 World IT Show (WIS).
The “AP-700,” currently being co-developed with Lenovo, is equipped with an Nvidia Thor chip, delivering an impressive computing performance of approximately 2,000 TOPS.
This platform is designed to enable both large-scale data processing and the operation of advanced AI models simultaneously, positioning it as a core infrastructure for next-generation autonomous driving capable of real-time responses to unexpected urban situations.
Based on the diverse driving data collected in downtown Gangnam, SWM intends to further refine its AI models and integrate them with the AP-700 platform to gradually implement fully autonomous driving technology.
Kim Gi-hyeok, CEO of SWM, stated, “This award recognizes not only our autonomous driving technology, which has been validated in real urban environments, but also the strength of our computing infrastructure. In particular, our next-generation autonomous driving computing platform, the AP-700, will serve as a key foundation capable of processing advanced AI models and large-scale data in real time, providing stable decision-making and driving capabilities even in complex urban settings.”
