Suwon City in Gyeonggi Province is standardizing the discharge and collection of useful household waste resources generated in alleyway-type shopping districts and establishing a continuous management system based on public-private collaboration.
On the 21st, Suwon City signed a 'Agreement on Establishing a Useful Waste Resource Circulation System' with the Suwon Alley Shop Association, Suwon Urban Corporation, and Suwon Urban Foundation at the city hall situation room.
Under this agreement, the four organizations will work together to develop a sustainable resource circulation model that involves both merchants and citizens, and to foster an eco-friendly culture of consumption and sales within local businesses.
They will also plan resource circulation cooperation projects, operate detailed programs, and provide customized environmental education, promotional activities, and monitoring for merchants. The Suwon Alley Shop Association will encourage stores to participate in the separate discharge and collection system.
