"Please Launch It in Korea!" After All the Hype... This Coffee Finally Arrives in Korea
Sensational U.S. "Bucket Coffee" Arrives in Korea
Dunkin' Launches Limited-Time 1.4L "Giant Bucket"
An extra-large coffee, with a capacity of approximately 1.4 liters and nicknamed “bucket coffee” in the United States, has landed in Korea. As competition in the coffee and beverage sector intensifies with a focus on low prices and large servings, a full-fledged battle for market leadership is expected to unfold.
On April 21, Dunkin' announced that it would launch its extra-large size beverage, the “Giant Bucket,” for a limited time during the spring and summer seasons. This product features a capacity of 1.4 liters, which is about four times larger than the regular small size.
This product, which stands out due to its visual impact and unique bucket-shaped design, was developed in response to the growing demand for iced drinks in the summer and the increasing trend toward large-volume products. The bucket comes with a handle, making it more portable for picnics and outdoor activities.
The beverage comes in two varieties: the “Giant Bucket Americano,” which can be made with Dunkin’ espresso, iced blend, or decaf blend, and the “Giant Bucket Peach,” a peach-flavored drink. The product will first be introduced at Wonders Cheongdam, Gangnam, and Seoul Station locations, and will gradually be rolled out to stores nationwide.

This product first appeared at Dunkin' locations in the United States in February 2026, quickly gaining popularity under the nickname “bucket coffee.” The 1.4-liter drink was initially sold on a trial basis in select regions such as Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Even without official marketing, it quickly spread on social networking services (SNS).
As related posts went viral online, some stores experienced sell-outs, and consumers called for the drink to be made available in more locations. This enthusiasm spread to Korea, where consumers expressed hope for a domestic launch, which has now become a reality.
Rising Demand for Large-Volume Beverages
The trend for oversized beverages reportedly began last year at independent cafes in parts of the United States. The New York Times reported that cafes were serving iced coffee and lattes in bucket-sized containers holding about 1 liter, capitalizing on the exaggerated concept. Major franchises have also responded with similar products.
