Three Casualties as Logistics Truck Collides with Union Members at Jinju Cargo Solidarity Rally
A traffic accident occurred at the site of a Cargo Solidarity rally in Jinju, Gyeongsangnam-do, resulting in three casualties.
According to the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency and the Gyeongnam Fire Department, at around 10:32 a.m. on April 20, a 2.5-ton truck struck three participants at a Cargo Solidarity rally organized by the Public Transport Workers’ Union under the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, held near the main gate of the CU Jinju Logistics Center in Yehari, Jangchon-myeon, Jinju.
As a result of the accident, one person was transported to the hospital in cardiac arrest and ultimately died, while two others sustained serious and minor injuries and are receiving treatment.
The police believe the accident occurred as union members attempted to block the departure of a logistics vehicle.
The rally was held by members of the Gyeongnam branch of Cargo Solidarity in front of the CU Jinju Logistics Center, operated by BGF Retail, to demand improved working conditions for delivery drivers and collective bargaining with the company.

The police are currently investigating the exact circumstances of the accident by questioning eyewitnesses and the truck driver.
