Government "Fully Welcomes Israel-Lebanon Ceasefire, Appreciates Trump's Efforts"
On April 17, the government stated that it "fully welcomes" the agreement between Israel and Lebanon to implement a ceasefire.

View original imageThe Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement in the name of its spokesperson, saying, "We highly appreciate the efforts of U.S. President Donald Trump toward reaching this ceasefire agreement."
In addition, the ministry stated, "We urge all relevant parties to thoroughly implement the terms of the ceasefire agreement and to respect Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity," adding, "We hope that this ceasefire will serve as an important opportunity not only for U.S.-Iran negotiations but also for the restoration of peace and stability in the region and for ensuring the free navigation of the Strait of Hormuz."

President Trump announced the previous day (local time) via his social media account that Israel and Lebanon had agreed to a formal ten-day ceasefire. There are expectations that this ceasefire agreement could have a positive impact on future U.S.-Iran peace negotiations as well.
