Choi Eunseok Running for Daegu Mayor: "Unification Is Essential... I Will Resign My Assembly Seat"
"If Selected as People Power Party's Final Candidate, Will Resign from National Assembly Before April 30"
Choi Eunseok, a member of the People Power Party running in the Daegu mayoral primary election, stressed the necessity of unifying the party’s candidates. He also announced his intention to resign from his seat in the National Assembly before May if he is selected as the party’s final candidate.
On April 15, Assemblyman Choi stated on his social networking service (SNS), "Regardless of which of the six People Power Party candidates becomes the final nominee, we must unite as one." He emphasized, "Unification with Joo Ho-young and Lee Jin-sook is not a choice but a necessity."
He added, "If I am selected as the final candidate, I will not hesitate to join hands with the two and go through the process of gathering our intentions together."

He continued, "If I am chosen as our party’s final candidate, I will resign from my National Assembly seat before April 30." His plan is to hold the Daegu mayoral election and the National Assembly by-election simultaneously, thereby protecting the party's seat and establishing a foothold for victory.
