CJ Olive Young Introduces AI Across Entire Work Environment...First in the Retail Industry
Introduction of Gemini Enterprise
Non-Development Roles Can Now Directly Create and Utilize AI Tools
On April 14, CJ Olive Young announced that it will become the first company in the Korean retail industry to implement Google Cloud’s Gemini Enterprise throughout the entire work environment for all employees, with the goal of enhancing work expertise based on data and artificial intelligence (AI).
Gemini Enterprise is an AI platform that enables companies to directly create and utilize AI tools as needed, based on their own data.
This introduction is aimed at proactively responding to data-driven decision-making and personalized services, which have recently emerged as core competitive strengths in the retail sector. Olive Young has continued to advance its data infrastructure and expand the scope of AI applications.
Olive Young plans to fully integrate generative AI technology into overall work processes, creating an environment where every employee can improve their work methods using AI. In particular, employees in non-development roles, such as merchandise planners (MDs) and marketing managers, will now be able to directly build and utilize AI tools for tasks like market research and customer data analysis, which were previously handled manually.
Changes are also anticipated at the store level. The company plans to optimize store operations by using AI to monitor display and inventory status in real time, among other enhancements.
Furthermore, as Olive Young expands its global business, the importance of AI continues to grow. The company plans to leverage AI in various ways, such as providing product information tailored to the language environment and customer characteristics of each country.
Olive Young aims to move beyond simply using AI tools, and in the long term, plans to introduce AI across all areas of platform operations, including logistics networks, to drive operational innovation.
