Ministry of Justice Advances Appointment of New Prosecutors by Three Months to Address Personnel Shortage
List of New Prosecutor Appointees from Among Experienced Legal Professionals Released
On April 13, the Ministry of Justice released on its official website the list of 48 new prosecutors to be appointed from among experienced legal professionals. These individuals are scheduled to be appointed in late June, which is three months earlier than usual, in order to address the current shortage of prosecutors.

View original imageSince 2024, the Ministry of Justice has been operating a recruitment process to appoint prosecutors from among experienced legal professionals with expertise in various fields. Previously, 32 experienced legal professionals were appointed as prosecutors in 2024, and 24 in 2025.
Typically, the appointment of experienced prosecutors takes place around August each year. However, due to this year’s shortage of prosecutorial personnel, the process has been moved forward by approximately three months.

For the candidates whose names have been made public, a two-week period will be provided to gather opinions regarding their suitability as prosecutors. The official appointment ceremony is scheduled to be held in early May. Afterward, these new prosecutors will receive approximately two months of training at the Legal Research and Training Institute before being assigned to local prosecutors’ offices.
