Oh Sehoon: "Is Even Citizens' Laughter Just Showcase Administration?"... Concerns Over 'Park Won Soon Season 2'
Sehoon Oh, the Mayor of Seoul, expressed concerns that if the Democratic Party of Korea were to take over the mayoral office in the June 3 local elections, efforts to erase his achievements ("Erasing Sehoon Oh") would intensify.
On April 11, Mayor Oh shared his thoughts about a festival site he inspected the previous day, posting on Facebook under the title, "Seoul must be a fun city all year round."
Mayor Oh said, "There is no moment more rewarding than seeing citizens swinging and cheering on the rooftop of the Hangang Bus Pier on a bright spring day, children laughing as they tumble inside water balls at Mulbit Square, or witnessing the outdoor reading space along the Han River lined with 5,000 books."
He continued, "But as I walked along the Han River, filled with laughter, bittersweet memories came to mind. The Democratic Party labeled the 'Han River Renaissance' as 'showcase administration' and 'a waste of taxpayers' money.'"
Mayor Oh added, "In an effort to erase my achievements, former Mayor Park Won Soon branded Sebitseom as a 'completely flawed project,' turned off the lights of the facilities built on the Han River, and left them as eyesores for years. The clock of the Han River was stopped for a decade."
He warned, "If the Democratic Party seizes Seoul again, they will try to stigmatize everything citizens have built up with their own efforts. The specter of Park Won Soon, Season 2, will turn the Han River gray once more."

The following year came the Winter Festival, then the Han River Three Festival Series the year after, and last year, the Autumn Festival. As each event accumulated, the number of participants grew from 80,000 to 13 million. This is the answer written by the citizens themselves with their own feet.
