Regarding the passage of the "war supplementary budget" worth 26.2 trillion won at the National Assembly on the 10th with bipartisan agreement, the Presidential Office expressed its gratitude, stating, "We thank the National Assembly for swiftly processing the supplementary budget bill through bipartisan cooperation that prioritized the national interest in the face of the crisis caused by the war in the Middle East."

View original imageKang Yujeong, Chief Spokesperson for the Presidential Office, conveyed this message of thanks in a written briefing, saying, "With the passage of today's supplementary budget, we are now able to implement essential livelihood support programs, including not only compensation for damages caused by high oil prices, but also support for naphtha purchases to stabilize supply chains, the K-Pass half-price fare discount to reduce public transportation costs for citizens, and expanded fuel cost support for farmers and fishermen."
She added, "The Lee Jae-myung administration will do its utmost to ensure swift execution by promptly carrying out follow-up procedures so that the supplementary budget can be felt by the public as soon as possible."
Spokesperson Jeon Eunsu also commented, "We appreciate the prompt handling. The government will do everything possible to ensure the thorough implementation of the supplementary budget."
Previously, President Lee delivered a policy speech at the National Assembly on the 2nd, emphasizing, "This supplementary budget will serve as a breakwater to protect the lives of the people," and urged, "I ask for bipartisan cooperation so that it can be passed quickly."
