Isn’t this creating an alibi for a potential election loss?" In response, he stated, "I have never considered the possibility of losing the election."
Mayor Oh continued, "The Seoul mayoral candidate is not just responsible for the capital area but must also serve as a representative figure leading local elections nationwide. At the general assembly, there was unanimous agreement to break away from Yoon, in other words, to sever ties with former President Yoon Suk-yeol’s emergency martial law. However, while the party announced this change in direction, there has been no action to implement it. If this continues, elections across the country will all become more difficult," he stressed.
Mayor Oh also pointed out, "In Seoul, the People Power Party’s approval rating is currently at 17% or 13%. That’s only about one-third of the Democratic Party of Korea’s figure, and I wanted to make that clear."
When asked, "If you are confirmed as the candidate, will you request campaign support from Chairman Jang?" he selected 'Yes'. Mayor Oh explained, "Not only must the party’s declaration to break with Yoon be made, but it must also be clearly demonstrated through action. I will request that the party clarify its stance so that candidates running in local elections across the country are not competing on an uneven playing field, but are instead able to campaign with the love and support of the public."

Mayor Oh has previously offered sharp criticism toward Jang Dong-hyuk’s leadership and has called for a centrist election campaign committee. On April 7, he wrote on Facebook, "A conservative party without innovation will collapse again, and a conservative party without unity can never win. We must change more, and unite more. Only then can we win," he said.
