Sungwon Lee: "Jeon Jae-soo Fails to Act on Special Act... Clear Deception of Busan Citizens"
"He Will Certainly Be Held Accountable for His Choice"
Assemblyman Lee made these remarks on his social networking service (SNS) account on the same day. He said, "Assemblyman Jeon confidently promised the citizens of Busan that the special act would be passed (about two weeks ago)," and added, "However, after President Jaemyung Lee expressed a negative stance on the special act and the Democratic Party halted its progress in the National Assembly, Assemblyman Jeon stopped taking any further action to push the bill forward." Lee continued, "In the end, he chose to abolish the special act, breaking his own promise."
Assemblyman Lee went on to say, "This is Assemblyman Jeon himself declaring that he is unqualified to be a leader," and added, "We do not call someone a leader when he abandons even a bill he himself sponsored just to follow the political situation and succumbs to a word of power." He also emphasized, "The people call these types of politicians mere political operatives, and have always judged and removed them through elections. He will surely be held accountable for this choice."

Earlier, Assemblyman Jeon stated in a Busan Ilbo interview that he was "coordinating positions with Han Byungdo, floor leader of the Democratic Party, and Hong Ikpyo, Senior Presidential Secretary for Political Affairs, regarding the passage of the special act." The opposition criticized Assemblyman Jeon for changing his attitude after having previously emphasized the importance of passing the special act. Assemblyman Lee pointed out that, in the interview, Assemblyman Jeon said, "If only Busan is designated as a special zone, what about Ulsan and Gyeongnam?" Lee claimed this amounted to announcing his intention to abolish the special act.
