Woori Financial Group Voluntarily Implements Alternate-Day Vehicle Operation... Launches Emergency Energy-Saving Protocol
Woori Financial Group has initiated an emergency energy-saving protocol across all its subsidiaries, voluntarily implementing an alternate-day vehicle operation system in response to global energy supply chain instability.
On April 8, Woori Financial Group announced the full implementation of the alternate-day vehicle operation system for all employees. This follows the introduction of a five-day rotation system in March and expands the policy in line with the alternate-day vehicle system being implemented by public institutions as of this date. Under this system, vehicles with license plates ending in odd numbers can be driven on odd-numbered days, and those with even numbers on even-numbered days. However, vehicles essential for work, such as business vehicles, are exempt from the restriction. Additionally, vehicles for people with disabilities, vehicles carrying infants, electric vehicles, and hydrogen-powered vehicles are also excluded from the driving restrictions.

Alongside vehicle restrictions, Woori Financial Group is also implementing company-wide energy-saving measures. These include utilizing flexible working arrangements to stagger commuting hours, expanding remote meetings, and minimizing unnecessary business trips. The group is also strengthening temperature control for heating and cooling, turning off lights during lunch breaks and at night, and promoting daily conservation activities such as reducing the use of disposable plastics and paper cups. A representative from Woori Financial Group stated, "We will expand the practice of energy conservation based on the voluntary participation of our employees and contribute to overcoming the national energy crisis," adding, "We will continue to pursue eco-friendly management to strengthen resource security and achieve carbon neutrality."
