ZDVentures Makes Seed Investment in Open-Field Smart Farm Startup "Levita"
"Spotlight on Innovation in Digital Transformation of Agriculture"
"Expectations for Global Expansion and Data-Driven Service Growth"
Early-stage startup-focused investment firm ZDVentures(ZDVC) announced on the 8th that it has completed a seed investment in Levita, an agtech company developing open-field smart farm solutions.
Levita is a smart farm startup that is expanding the scope of conventional facility horticulture-centered smart farm technology to open-field cultivation environments. Noting that approximately 95% of agriculture in Korea is conducted outdoors rather than in greenhouses, Levita has introduced the “Levita Tower,” a tower-type solution that can be immediately installed in the field, and “Levita Link,” a wireless irrigation and soil sensor module.
The Levita Tower, also known as the "smart scarecrow," is characterized by its simple installation method of being placed directly into the ground. Through this, farmers can monitor the growth status of crops across vast fields in real time and quickly identify factors affecting yields, such as pest outbreaks and abnormal weather. The soil module, Levita Link, analyzes the soil condition and automatically supplies the appropriate amount of water. This enables farmers to manage their fields remotely without having to visit in person, thereby improving both work efficiency and productivity.
Within just four months of its founding, Levita has established itself in the market by rapidly expanding its service, particularly among young farmers nationwide. The company has also been recognized for its technological prowess through external accolades such as the 2026 Korea Industry Award and first place at the Asian Leadership Conference GSSC. Going forward, Levita plans to build a "digital twin farm" based on the collected crop growth data and expand its business to data-driven services such as crop disaster insurance.

With this funding, Levita plans to enhance the precision of its solutions and accelerate its entry into the global agricultural market. Kim Hakyeong, CEO of ZDVentures(ZDVC), stated, “Industries that can continue to grow steadily, even in the era of major AI transformation, inevitably originate from areas closely tied to the essentials of human life. Levita is a team that is driving structural innovation through the digital transformation of agriculture, and we determined that it has significant growth potential, which is why we decided to participate as the company’s first institutional investor.”
