Dong-Eui College Hosts 'K-food and World Cuisine' Cultural Experience Event for International Students
Dong-Eui College held an exchange event for international students to experience Korean food and culture.
Dong-Eui College (President Kim Youngdo) announced on April 7 that its Dong-Eui Global Language Education Center hosted the "Meeting of K-food and World Cuisine" event on April 3, targeting international students enrolled in the Korean language training program.
The event was organized to help students understand Korean culture through activities such as making kimchi dishes and wearing hanbok, while also encouraging students of various nationalities to share their own cultures.

View original imageDuring the event, participating students made and tasted kimchi pancakes themselves, gaining hands-on experience with Korean food culture, and wore hanbok to experience traditional Korean aesthetics and sentiments.
At the event, a "Global Food Festival" was also held, where international students introduced dishes from their home countries. A variety of foods were featured, such as samsa from Kyrgyzstan, chuwang from Mongolia, laphet thoke from Myanmar, and banh xeo from Vietnam, promoting active cultural exchange.
Professor Seo Mikyung of the Dong-Eui Global Language Education Center said, "I hope this will help international students feel more familiar with Korean culture," adding, "We plan to continue expanding experiential programs."
Tae Kyung Kim, Director of the Dong-Eui Global Language Education Center, stated, "Food and traditional culture serve as bridges connecting different cultures," and added, "We will support international students in adapting smoothly to life in Korea."

Dong-Eui College received certification for both its undergraduate and language training programs in the 2024 Certification System for Internationalization Capacity in Education, and is supporting international students' academic and employment connections through a faculty advisor system.
