MMCA Cheongju Launches Cultural and Arts Support for Military Personnel
MOU Signed with the 37th Infantry Division
Joint Operation of Free Exhibition Admission and Educational Programs
The Cheongju Art Storage Center of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA) is set to launch cultural and arts programs for soldiers and their families in partnership with the 37th Infantry Division of the Republic of Korea Army.
On April 3, the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art announced that its Cheongju Art Storage Center had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the 37th Infantry Division on March 24 to jointly operate cultural and arts programs and support museum visits for military personnel.
This agreement aims to expand opportunities for cultural and artistic experiences not only to soldiers but also to their families and civilian personnel. The support will cover not only the division headquarters located in Jeungpyeong but also subordinate units throughout the cities and counties of North Chungcheong Province, including Danyang, Yeongdong, and Cheongju.
Under the agreement, the two institutions will jointly operate educational programs on culture and the arts for soldiers and their families, and provide free admission to exhibitions at the MMCA Cheongju. They will also promote collaborative projects and exchanges related to culture and the arts.
MMCA Cheongju has engaged with the local community through distinctive programs such as its 'Open Storage.' With this agreement, the museum plans to concretize its support for the emotional well-being and quality of life of military personnel.
