Eastar Jet Offers Year-Round Airline Ticket Discounts for Military Personnel and Defense Families
Year-Round Discounts Regardless of Peak Season
Special "Military Service Member Courtesy Service" Also Available
Eastar Jet announced on April 3 that it has signed a "Military Family Airline Ticket Discount Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)" with the Military Transportation Command.
The agreement ceremony took place on the afternoon of April 2 at the Military Transportation Command headquarters in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi Province, with the participation of Eastar Jet CEO Cho Joongseok, Commander Bang Hyunseok of the Military Transportation Command, and other officials.
Under this agreement, starting from the previous day, Eastar Jet will offer a 10% discount on domestic standard fares and a 10% discount on international discount fares (5% for Southeast Asian routes from December to February) to active-duty military officers, civilian military employees, Ministry of National Defense officials, military academy cadets, and former civilian military employees who retired after serving for 19 years and 6 months or more, as well as to their immediate family members and active-duty soldiers.
For domestic flights, the discount is applied by selecting "Military" in the passenger status discount section at the payment stage on the website. For international flights, the discount can be accessed by entering a promotion code in the designated field. Travelers must present relevant documentation such as an official ID, Millipass, National Defense Family mobile certificate, or family relations certificate at the airport counter when departing.
The discount benefit is available 365 days a year through the Eastar Jet website, regardless of peak or off-peak season, and active-duty soldiers can use the discount for up to six months after discharge, based on the boarding date. Further details can be found on the Welfare Agency for the Armed Forces website.
In addition, Eastar Jet will specially operate a "Military Service Member Courtesy Service." In June and October, which include Patriots and Veterans Month and Armed Forces Day respectively, military personnel using domestic airports will be given priority for exit row seating, and those in uniform will receive priority boarding on flights.
