Tesla Delivers 358,000 Vehicles in Q1...Misses Estimates for Second Straight Quarter
The vehicle deliveries of Tesla, the U.S. electric vehicle company, fell short of market expectations in the first quarter of this year (January to March). It appears that electric vehicle tax incentives are affecting car sales.
According to Tesla on April 2, 2026, the company delivered 358,023 vehicles in the first quarter of this year, down 14.3% from the previous quarter's 418,227 units. However, this figure represents a 6.3% increase compared to the same period last year, when deliveries were 336,681 units.
This fell short of Wall Street's forecast, which Tesla compiled from projections by more than 20 financial institutions last month, estimating deliveries at 365,646 units. In the fourth quarter of last year as well, Tesla's vehicle deliveries were below expectations.
