Gwangju Urban Corporation has finalized its plan for the '2026 Intensive Safety Inspection' targeting public facilities and construction sites used by citizens. The corporation will carry out detailed inspections over a two-month period starting from April 20th, 2026.
On March 30th, Gwangju Urban Corporation announced that it held the '2026 1st Quarter Industrial Safety and Health Council' in the main conference room of its headquarters, attended by 10 representatives from both labor and management, including President Seungnam Kim and Labor Union Chairman Jeongpal Park. View original imageThe inspection will cover a total of ten locations: three sports facilities (an indoor swimming pool, Sangmu Golf Practice Range, and an indoor ice rink); three apartment complexes (Ssangchon Permanent Rental, Kumho Bityeoulchae, and Usan Bityeoulchae); two construction sites (the 3rd section of the High-Tech District 3 land development and Yeongnak Park Natural Burial Site); and two other multi-use facilities (Jeonil Building 245 and Hwanggeum Parking Lot).
The inspection period will run for two months, from April 20th to June 19th, 2026. The corporation plans to form a joint inspection team that includes external experts such as members of the Safety and Health Management Committee and the Citizen Safety Monitoring Group in order to ensure professionalism and objectivity.
Additionally, specialized equipment such as drones will be used to assess structural aging, and a comprehensive inspection will be conducted on electrical, fire, and gas facilities. Management will participate directly in these joint inspections. Any issues that can be resolved immediately at the site will be addressed on the spot, while facilities requiring repair or reinforcement will be improved by securing the necessary budget.
