The Blue House will launch an official website with significantly enhanced public participation features to mark the 300th day since President Lee Jaemyung's inauguration. Having completed operations of its temporary website after taking office without a transition committee, the government is now rolling out an online communication platform that fully reflects the state philosophies of “realizing popular sovereignty” and “participation and communication.”
The Blue House announced that the official website would be released at 11 a.m. on March 30 through its official domain, 'president.com.' As the administration began its term immediately amidst a national crisis following the impeachment of the previous president and without a separate transition team, it had operated a temporary website to reduce costs and minimize administrative gaps.
The core of this revamp is the creation of a “participatory space” that enables the public not only to receive information but also to actively create government content and propose policy ideas. The new website introduces three major menus for public participation. The “Moments with the President” section allows citizens to upload photos related to the president that are stored on their mobile phones. Once submitted, these photos are posted on the website after a simple verification process. The Blue House expects this to become a symbolic corner where moments of governance, as seen through the eyes of the people, can be shared collectively.
The “Create Your Own Digital Goods” board is a space where citizens can design and share various digital content, such as smartphone wallpapers and smartwatch faces. By making these freely downloadable and usable by anyone, the intent is for people to experience the message of “a government owned by the people” in their everyday lives. The “Empathy Policies in Daily Life” section serves as a communication channel for introducing and proposing policy ideas that are directly connected to people's daily lives. The Blue House plans to operate this as an open forum for policy suggestions, ensuring that the voice of the people becomes the compass guiding state affairs.
Another central pillar of the overhaul is the enhancement of government transparency and convenience. The Blue House will newly introduce a “Pre-disclosed Information List,” proactively making available the information catalogues of key departments. This measure, designed to broaden the public’s right to know and increase administrative transparency, brings the philosophy of a “transparent government” championing popular sovereignty into the online space as well.
Additionally, the website now offers enhanced features to allow users to browse the activities of President Lee and First Lady Kim Hye-kyung by theme. The interface is optimized for all digital devices, including mobile phones, tablets, and PCs. Through these improvements, the Blue House plans to develop the official website into a “user-centered media hub.”
