[Click eStock] "QuantaMatrix's Overwhelming Technology in Sepsis Diagnostics... Entering Full-Scale Growth Phase"
On March 26, independent research firm ValueFinder analyzed that QuantaMatrix is expected to accelerate its growth starting this year by shifting to a 'printer-ink' business model, leveraging its overwhelming technological superiority in the field of sepsis diagnostics.
Founded in 2010, QuantaMatrix is a manufacturer of antibiotic susceptibility testing equipment and diagnostic kits that was listed on the KOSDAQ market via a technology-specialized listing pathway in 2020. The company generates revenue mainly from its flagship product, dRAST, and its business model is structured like the 'printer-ink' model, where profitable consumable sales are repeatedly generated following equipment sales.
At the end of last year, the company issued KRW 36 billion in perpetual convertible bonds, resolving issues related to legal capital impairment and the risk of being designated as an administrative issue company. To address the relatively high price point of its equipment, over the past two years, QuantaMatrix developed a new model called 'dRAST evo,' which maintains product performance while dramatically reducing production costs; this is now in its completion phase. Having already secured large-scale orders in major competitive bids in Europe and Asia, the company’s technological and quality superiority over competitors has been recognized, and positive performance is also expected this year.
Researcher Lee Choongheon of ValueFinder commented, "In addition, the company began generating new revenue last year from QMIA, its blood-based multi-marker diagnostic device for Alzheimer's disease. With the start of full-scale commercial operation this year, sales of dementia diagnostic kits are also expected to increase in earnest."

Lee further explained, "This year, the company is expected to accelerate its strategy to expand domestic and international sales of dRAST equipment and increase the proportion of highly profitable kit sales. At this stage, growth in dRAST sales volume and revenue will serve as the main indicators for evaluating the company's value." He added, "In the mid- to long-term, entry into the North American market through U.S. FDA approval and commercialization of uRAST will be critical."
