Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Kim Junggwan declared total assets amounting to 7,810,210,000 won. This represents an increase of 1,237,810,000 won compared to the previous year.
According to the regular property disclosure published in the official gazette by the Government Public Officials Ethics Committee on March 26, Minister Kim's total assets rose from 6,572,400,000 won to 7,810,210,000 won.
Breaking down by asset category, the value of buildings stood at 2,900,000,000 won. Minister Kim and his spouse each own half (1,450,000,000 won each) of an apartment in Helio City, Garak-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul.
Automobiles and related assets totaled 40,370,000 won. His spouse owns a 2021 BMW 530e valued at 39,000,000 won and a 2007 Sonata valued at 1,370,000 won.
Deposits made up the largest portion, totaling 3,273,410,000 won, which is an increase of 811,290,000 won from the previous year. Of this, Minister Kim's deposits amount to 2,107,600,000 won, his spouse's are 1,073,170,000 won, and their son and daughter hold 35,700,000 won and 56,920,000 won, respectively. The reason for the change was listed as "retirement pay from previous employment, salary savings, and asset reallocation."
Securities holdings increased to a total of 1,596,430,000 won, up by 427,900,000 won compared to the previous year. Minister Kim himself holds 88,370,000 won in listed stocks, 200,805,000 won in government bonds, 27,200,000 won in public bonds, 228,550,000 won in financial bonds, and 309,320,000 won in corporate bonds.
His spouse owns 376,120,000 won in listed stocks, 200,000,000 won in government bonds, 68,060,000 won in financial bonds, 20,580,000 won in corporate bonds, and 58,690,000 won in other bonds.
Minister Kim’s portfolio of listed stocks includes LG Uplus, SK REITs, Industrial Bank of Korea, Lotte REITs, Mirae Asset Securities, KakaoBank, Korea Investment & Securities, Krafton, and Tencent AI. His spouse also holds domestic and overseas financial and IT stocks such as BNK Financial Group, Kakao Pay, Broadcom, Bloom Energy, Tesla, and NVIDIA.
Meanwhile, Vice Minister of Industry Moon Sinhak declared total assets of 2,155,960,000 won, which is an increase of 248,840,000 won. This was mainly due to an increase of 248,440,000 won in his own deposits. Vice Minister Moon explained that the deposit increase was due to receipt of criminal compensation and past retirement pay.
