[2026 Asset Disclosure] Military Manpower Administration Chief Hong Soyoung Owns Three Apartments
Reported Real Estate Holdings Total 1.6 Billion Won, Including Commercial Property and Officetel
Songyoung Hong, Commissioner of the Military Manpower Administration, was found to own real estate worth approximately 1.6 billion won, including an apartment in Seo-gu, Daejeon.
According to the "2026 Asset Disclosure Data" released by the Government Public Official Ethics Committee on March 20, Commissioner Hong owns an apartment in Dunsan-dong, Seo-gu, Daejeon (building area: 70.55㎡), and two apartments in Bangok-dong, Sejong Special Self-Governing City (each 23㎡ and 21㎡). In addition, he reported a commercial property in Naseon-dong, Sejong (23㎡), and an officetel building in Daepyeong-dong (23㎡). Excluding the commercial property, he owns a total of four residential units.
The reported value of the Dunsan-dong apartment is 420 million won, while the apartments in Sejong are valued at 135 million won and 130 million won, respectively. The officetel was reported at 136 million won, and the commercial property at 342 million won. In addition, there is a single-family house owned by his mother (380 million won) and security deposits for his children's officetel (75 million won).
It has been reported that the government is considering real estate tax reforms, such as an increase in property holding taxes, after the end of the capital gains tax exemption for owners of multiple homes on May 9.
