View original imageNetflix announced on the 24th (local time) that the total number of viewers, both during the live broadcast and within 24 hours after the airing of 'BTS Comeback Live: Arirang,' reached 18.4 million. This broadcast video features BTS's comeback stage held at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul on March 21.
According to the official Netflix website, the number of views (defined as total viewing hours divided by runtime) for 'BTS Comeback Live: Arirang' last week was 13.1 million, making it the overwhelming number one among non-English shows.
It ranked first for the week in 24 countries around the world, including South Korea, Mexico, Japan, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Bulgaria. It also ranked in the weekly top 10 in a total of 80 countries.
According to Netflix, BTS-related content on its official channels generated 2.62 billion impressions. In countries such as the United States, South Korea, the Philippines, Australia, Malaysia, India, Thailand, Argentina, the United Kingdom, and Turkey, hashtags related to BTS and Netflix became popular search keywords.
BTS entered a hiatus as all seven members fulfilled their mandatory military service obligations starting in December 2022. By June last year, all members had either been discharged or released from service, and they made their return with their fifth full-length album 'ARIRANG' this time.
