Culture Ministry and Arts Management Support Center to Promote 'K-Art Sales' at Art Basel Hong Kong
Media Art Screening and Talk with Ayoung Kim and Ikki Bawi Kuh
Pitching by 13 Korean Galleries
Expanding Global Networks
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Arts Management Support Center announced on March 23 that they will hold a special program during Art Basel Hong Kong, aimed at raising the international profile of Korean artists and strengthening the foundation for domestic galleries to expand overseas.
This event has been organized to introduce contemporary Korean media art in Hong Kong, a key hub of the Asian art market, and to expand networks with global art professionals and collectors. The event will take place on March 26 at the Hong Kong Convention Center, where Art Basel Hong Kong is being held.
The first program is the Art Basel Hong Kong Film Program, titled "Life as a System: Time, Labor, and Narrative in Contemporary Moving Images." From 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on this day, works by Ayoung Kim and Ikki Bawi Kuh will be screened at Auditorium N101B in the Hong Kong Convention Center.
This program explores the invisible systems that define contemporary life through moving images, with a focus on how labor, capital, and technology shape everyday life and social structures. After the screening, there will be a talk session featuring both artists and Mark Rappolt, Editor-in-Chief of the global art magazine ArtReview.
The second program is "Art Connect: Korea × Hong Kong." This event invites museums, institutions, galleries, and collectors active in Hong Kong, supporting the overseas promotion and network building of domestic galleries.
