Goseong Home Prices Rise on East Coast Ocean View Effect, "Rene Ocean Goseong First View" Launching in April
Top Apartments for Home Price Growth in Gangwon Over the Past Year Found in Goseong
"East Coast Ocean View" Drives Upward Trend
Second Home Benefits and Transportation Improvements Also Fuel Market Sentiment
The upward trend of "East Coast ocean view" apartments continues in provincial real estate markets. In particular, apartments in Goseong County have recorded the highest home price growth in Gangwon Province over the past year, drawing increased attention in the real estate sector.
According to KB Real Estate Data Hub, the apartment in Gangwon Province that saw the greatest price increase over the past year was "Goseong Bongpo Coreau Ocean Beach." The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's Actual Transaction Price Disclosure System shows that an 84㎡ unit in this apartment complex was sold for 410 million won in October last year, which is over 100 million won higher than the 285 million won transaction price from October two years ago.
This apartment is notable for its proximity to the Bongpo coastline in Goseong, and it is interpreted that the "East Coast ocean view" has had a significant impact on the rise in property values. Recently, in the Gangwon Province real estate market, areas along the East Coast featuring ocean views are driving up home prices. In fact, among the top 10 apartments with the largest price increases in Gangwon over the past year, the first to fourth places were occupied by apartments in Goseong, Donghae, Sokcho, and Samcheok, all of which are East Coast locations.
Real estate experts commented, "Even amid the persistently subdued sentiment in provincial real estate markets, 'ocean view' apartments continue to show steady upward momentum, fueled by high residential preference." They added, "In the case of Goseong, special benefits for second homes as well as positive developments in transportation have further accelerated the increase in home prices."

East-West and East Coast railway network construction, improved transportation infrastructure expected ... 10 minutes to Sokcho, enjoy nature and city life simultaneously
Expectations are high for positive impacts from upcoming transportation infrastructure. Currently, both the East-West High-Speed Railway project (scheduled for 2029) and the East Coast Northern Line Railway project (scheduled for 2027) are underway in the Goseong and Sokcho areas of Gangwon Province. The East-West High-Speed Railway will be a 93.7 km single-track line stretching from Chuncheon Station on the Gyeongchun Line to Sokcho, and once opened, it will enable travel from Sokcho to Yongsan in Seoul in just 1 hour and 39 minutes without transfers.
Additionally, the East Coast Northern Line Railway project will connect Gangneung and Jejin, making it possible to travel from Gangneung to Jejin in 51 minutes. With the ongoing construction of the Chuncheon-Sokcho Line, travelers will be able to reach Suseo Station in Seoul from Jejin Station in 2 hours and 5 minutes. "Rene Ocean Goseong First View" will be accessible within 17 to 20 minutes by car from both Sokcho Station and Ganseong Station, where these two lines will stop.
The project also offers excellent connectivity to key local living areas. "Rene Ocean Goseong First View" is a 10 to 15-minute drive from central Sokcho, Gyodong, and Cheongchoho Lake. As a result, residents can conveniently access the infrastructure of both Goseong and Sokcho, enjoying the premium of double living zones.
The residential environment is also enhanced by cultural tourism and marine leisure options. Around "Rene Ocean Goseong First View" are major local attractions such as Cheongganjeong and the eight scenic spots of Goseong. The coast is home to facilities for leisure sports like scuba diving and surfing, as well as ocean view cafes along the shoreline, allowing residents to enjoy a resort lifestyle.
The project also stands out for its differentiated, specialized design. Targeting the demand for second homes and luxury residences, "Rene Ocean Goseong First View" has devoted significant effort to creating spaces that foster resident pride. In particular, all mid-to-large units of 117㎡ or more will feature "private terraces," providing an environment where residents can appreciate and experience views of the East Sea from within their homes.
Landscaping specialization is another highlight. "Rene Ocean Goseong First View" will include a variety of landscaping features, such as an outdoor camping area with water facilities, a seaside playground garden, Geumgang Forest Garden, and Pine Forest Yard. These elements are inspired by local natural environments, such as the sea of Goseong, the ridges of Seoraksan, and the waves of Cheonggan Beach, and are expected to significantly enhance residents' satisfaction.
