According to The New York Times (NYT) and other sources on March 22 (local time), Brigadier General Ebrahim Zolfaghari, spokesperson for Iran’s unified military command, Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, warned, "If Iran’s fuel and energy infrastructure is attacked by the enemy, every energy and desalination facility used by the United States and its allies in the region will become a target."
He added, "Iran will now go beyond the principle of 'an eye for an eye,'" and stressed, "We will respond to any hostile attack with even more severe consequences."
