Exchange Postpones Launch of Stock Market Pre-Market to September
Postponed from June 29 to September 14
The Korea Exchange announced on March 17 that the launch date for the pre-market and after-market trading sessions in the securities market will be postponed by two and a half months, from June 29 to September 14, 2026.
The exchange explained that this decision was made in response to feedback from the securities industry, which emphasized the need to improve the completeness of the system development for extended trading hours and to secure a sufficient period for testing.
Accordingly, the mock market, which was originally scheduled to open in March and run for about 15 weeks, will now be launched in early April and is planned to operate for approximately 23 weeks.
