This is an in-depth guided tour program that explores the history and changes in space by comparing the Changgyeonggung Palace depicted in Donggwoldo with the present-day palace grounds. Donggwoldo is a painting of Changgyeonggung and Changdeokgung Palaces, believed to have been created by a painter from the Dohwaseo (the royal painting bureau) during the late Joseon Dynasty.
Participants will be guided by a docent as they tour the site of Guknaegaksa, Myeongjeongjeon Hall, Munjeongjeon Hall, Gyeongchunjeon Hall, Tongmyeongjeon Hall, and the Chundangji area, which was created during the Japanese colonial period. Just like the pink-blossomed trees in Donggwoldo, visitors will be able to experience the spring atmosphere of Changgyeonggung Palace, where cornelian cherry and apricot flowers are in full bloom. Special lectures by experts in architecture and art history will also be held on April 4, 11, and 18.
